1983 Mike Schmidt Worth

Offered for sale is a rare mid 1980s Mike Schmidt game used bat. This rare Worth bats is uncracked and shows outstanding game use. The barrel has numerous ball marks, stitch impressions and black ink transfer marks on the barrel. There are also red and blue rack marks. There is heavy pine tar on the handle. There is red tape on the upper handle which is intended to disguise that it is a Worth bat. On the knob is correctly stamped the length (5) and player initials (MS). Schmidt's correct uniform number (20) is written on the knob in vintage marker.

Schmidt had a contract with Adirondack and would frequently apply red tape to Worth and Louisville Slugger bats in an effort to make the them look like Adirondack bats from a distance to hide the fact that he was not using bats from manufacturer that he endorsed. This, along with the pine tar, is a great Schmidt use characteristic. This bat comes with a PSA LOA and has received the highest possible grade of 10. It would be very difficult to find a better Schmidt bat from the prime of his career.
