2009 Joe Mauer

In 2009, Joe Mauer became the first catcher to lead the league in batting average, on-base percentage, and slugging percentage in a single year, and the first player to lead the American League in all three since George Brett did so in 1980. Mauer's .365 average, which is the highest mark among catchers (with at least 3.1 plate appearances per game) since 1901, and the highest by a Twin since Rod Carew's .388 in 1977, led Major League Baseball. Mauer also won his second consecutive Gold Glove in 2009. Joe was named the American League's 2009 MVP by a near-unanimous decision (27 out of 28 first place votes). Offered for sale is a rare bat from that historical season.

This 2009 game used Joe Mauer bat shows excellent game use. The has ball, stitch and ink transfer marks. There is pine tar covering the upper handle with a small amount transferred to the handle. On the knob is correctly stamped the model (JM7), batch code (039), and year (09). Joe has placed a beautiful blue signature on the barrel along with the inscription “All the Best”. 2009 Mauer bats are extremely rare. I have seen less than a dozen 2009 Mauer bats over the past decade. Twins collector know that Joe used very few bats this in 2009 and only a small handful are in the hobby. This bat is authenticated by PSA and graded a GU9. This A great opportunity to own a bat from this future HOFer from one of the greatest season ever by a catcher.
