Bats for Sale

Bat Labeling

Tony Oliva
1965 Hillerich & Bradbsby

Offered for sale is a beautiful 1965-68 era Tony Oliva game used bat that dates specifically to the 1965 season.  The barrel displays many stitch marks and checking on the right barrel from repeated contact.  On the knob is stamped the model number, K55.  Oliva's uniform number, 6, is written in a familar Oliva style which has been documented in numrous photos of Tony O.  There is a crack in the handle that has been repaired.  There is arepaired crack in the handle and a small mounting hole on the handle has been repaired. This bat came from former Twins batboy John Natwick.  John wsa a batboy for the Twins in 1964 and 1965 which, based on the era of the labeling, dates this one positively to the 1965 season when the Twins were AL Champs and faced the Dodgers in the World Series.

Oliva is one of the more underrated hitters in baseball history.  A 3x AL batting champ with a .304 career average made 8 All Star appearances.  Somehow the HOF has eluded Oliva however there remains a lot of support for his admission and he is a likely candidate for admission by the Veteran's Comittee........................................$995
